Position Overview:

 

WATU is seeking a motivated Training and Development Officer based in Dar es Salaam to join our rapidly growing business. With over 30,000 customers in Tanzania, we are looking for individuals who are ready to make a meaningful impact in our communities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Identify training and development needs within the organization through job analysis, appraisal schemes, and regular consultation with business managers and HR departments.
• Design, expand, and manage training programs using face-to-face, digital, and blended learning options.
• Develop training materials for in-house courses and create effective induction programs for new staff.
• Assess the return on investment for training programs and ensure compliance with statutory training requirements.
• Monitor and review trainee progress through appraisals, questionnaires, and discussions with managers.
• Devise individual and departmental learning plans, keeping up-to-date with developments in training.
• Evaluate training programs and prepare reports for management on usage, engagement, and performance.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
• 2 to 3 years of experience in employee training, coordination, administration, or human resources.
• Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of current trends, developments, and theories in organizational development and training.
• Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Integrity, enthusiasm, and a passion for continuous learning and development.
